SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing the hermetic refrigerant compressor compressing refrigerant by a compression means driven by a rotary shaft 6 supported by a bearing material 3f, composite is formed by laminating amorphous hard carbon coating 16 on one side of a flat backing plate 14, the bearing material 5b is formed by shaping the flat composite in a cylindrical shape with setting a side on which amorphous hard carbon coating 16 is laminated on an inner surface, the cylindrical shape bearing material 3f is pressed and installed on a bearing part 3f of a member supporting the rotary shaft 6, a surface of an inner surface of the bearing material 3f installed on the bearing part 3f is finished, and the rotary shaft 3f is inserted in and supported by the finished bearing material 3f.
