Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high position detection accuracy in a small detection ineffective area by means of a simple detection circuit. SOLUTION: This position detector is provided with a resistor part 16, which is brought into contact with a first conductive film 2b along its four sides and provided with resistance lower than that of the first conductive film, take-out electrodes 17a-17d connected to the resistor part 16 individually via four corners of the first conductive film 2b, an electric current supply part 15 supplying electric current to a second conductive film 2a, electric current detection circuits 18a-18d taking electric current, which flows from contacts of the first and second conductive films 2b and 2a serving as designation points to the resistor part 16, from the take-out electrodes 17a-17d, and a processing circuit 19 performing processing for specifying positions of the designation points based on current measurement values from the take-out electrodes 17a-17d. Especially, at least two sides among the four sides of the first conductive film 2b have curved shapes, each of which curves inward to constitute a part of an arc of an ellipse.
