Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a media medium for authentication from being used by others due to loss or theft and to reduce the cost, in an authentication system for performing authentication based on authentication information acquired by communication with non-contact IC media. SOLUTION: A reader section 11 communicating with a media side antenna 34 of the IC media 33 is provided with a shielding member 22 having a part corresponding to the reader side antenna 27 as a hole section 26 in a non-shielding region and the other region as a shielding layer 25 for shielding the communication on an antenna mounting member 21 having the reader side antenna 27 and a surface member 23 for shielding them. When a media side antenna 34 is located at a position having the reader side antenna 27 from the surface member 23 side via the hole section 26, communication is established, identification information is acquired from the IC media 33, and the authentication is processed.
