PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To park a magnetic head by decreasing the number of capacitors connected to a voice coil of a voice coil motor without utilizing counter electromotive force of a spindle motor. SOLUTION: The hard disk drive comprises a voice coil motor driving portion 10 supplying a drive current to the voice coil motor 170 and a controller 20 controlling the voice coil motor driving portion 170 so that supply voltage supplied to the prescribed chips attached to a printed circuit board is compared with parking reference voltage previously set as voltage being higher than power-on reset voltage, when the supply voltage is lower than the parking voltage, a current for parking the magnetic head 120 to the prescribed parking region 111 is applied to a voice coil 173 of the voice coil motor 170 through the voice coil motor drive portion 10.
