Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in the overall thickness and size, in a liquid crystal display device having speaker functions. SOLUTION: A light guide plate 42 of a back light 41 arranged on the reverse surface side of a liquid crystal display panel 31 is structured, by providing a projection plate type part 42b which is thinner than an optical waveguide body 42a on the top surface side of a specified one-end surface of the optical waveguide body 42a. A piezoelectric element 46 and a light emitting diode 47 are bonded and arranged on the reverse surface of the projection plate type part 42b. Then the optical waveguide plate 42 functions as the diaphragm of a speaker. In this case, since the projection plate type part 42b of the optical waveguide plate 42 is arranged in a region of the liquid crystal display panel 31, corresponding to a projection part 33a of the reverse-surface side substrate 33, the overall thickness and size of the device will not increase.
