Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition used for inkjet recording method which provides a pigment-based ink superior in light fastness, water resistance and shelf life stability, does not cause generation of a clogging at the tip end of a nozzle due to drying of ink, is always good in ejection resposiveness and ejection stability. SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition contains at least water, a water-soluble organic solvent and a pigment, wherein a compound expressed by general formula (I) is contained provided that, in the formula, M expresses an alkali metal, ammonium or an organic ammonium, and m and n are each 1 or 2.
