NAVIGATION DEVICE, MAP UPDATE DATA DISTRIBUTION DEVICE, NAVIGATION SYSTEM, AND MAP DATA UPDATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device, a center, a navigation system, and a map data updating method that can update map data to the latest map data. SOLUTION: When a recommended course is calculated by a control section 106 of an on-vehicle apparatus 100, the control section 106 transmits a mesh ID of the map data including the recommended course to a map data management center 300, requests information on the latest version of the map data corresponding to the mesh ID, and obtains information on the latest version. The control section 106 compares the version number of each mesh of the map data including the recommended course with the latest version number obtained from the map data management center 300. When there is a mesh whose version is not the latest version, the control section 106 downloads the map data of the latest version of the mesh by communication between vehicles from the on-vehicle apparatus of another vehicle having the map data of the latest version.
