Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil tempered wire having both of high fatigue strength and toughness after having been nitrided; a manufacturing method therefor; and a spring using the oil tempered wire. SOLUTION: The oil tempered wire has a tempered martensite structure. When the oil tempered wire is nitrided, the nitrided layer formed on the surface of the wire has a lattice constant between 2.870 and 2.890 . The oil tempered wire is manufactured by the steps of: drawing a steel wire; quenching it; and tempering it. In the above steps, the steel wire is quenched after having been heated in an atmosphere between 850 and 950°C for 30 sec to 150 sec, and is tempered at 400 to 600°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
