Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide correct four-grade diagnosis of degree of arteriosclerosis, from which transitory and functional factors are removed, by digital plethysmogram and arm pulse wave measurement under pressurization at diastolic blood pressure; and further to provide two-grade (normal and abnormal) diagnosis of autonomic imbalance by pulse wave before pressurization. SOLUTION: A CTc is used, which is provided by correcting a bottom-peak time (peak time) on the leading edge of pulse wave CT by a square root of RR. Arteriosclerosis can be diagnosed by the mean CTc, and autonomic imbalance by a dispersion range of the CT. Results that mean CTc before pressurization is within the normal range indicates normality regarding arteriosclerosis and no necessity of pressurization. The result that mean CTc before pressurization is out of the normal range indicates mild, moderate and severe arteriosclerosis depending on the CTc of the pulse wave under pressurization. When the CT before pressurization ranges over the normal and severe levels of arteriosclerosis, autonomic imbalance is diagnosed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
