OPENING/CLOSING CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC SLIDING OPENING/CLOSING BODY FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of erroneous detection in detecting a pinch of foreign matter during the closing operation of an electric sliding door for a vehicle. SOLUTION: An opening/closing control device for an electric sliding opening/closing body for the vehicle comprises a speed sensor 5 detecting the opening/closing operation speed of the sliding door 1; a feedback control section 6 increasing/decreasing the value of control gain for increasing/decreasing the amount of power supply supplied to a motor 3 for driving the sliding door; a motor current sensor 7 detecting the value of current flowing through the motor 3; a pinch determining section 8 determining a pinch of foreign matter when the value of current flowing through the motor is a predetermined current threshold or more; an increase rate computing section 9 computing the increase amount per unit time of the value of current flowing through the motor, as a current increase rate value; and a control gain limiting section 10 limiting the value of control gain to a predetermined value or less when the current increase rate value exceeds a predetermined increase rate threshold.
