IMPACT FORCE ABSORBING STRUCTURE OF BODY FRONT PART OF AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively absorb impact force by sufficient plastic deformation of a front side member when impact force is applied to the front side member from its front part by front collision. SOLUTION: The automobile 1 is provided with a pair of left and right front side members 3 extending in the longitudinal direction of a body 2, a suspension member 6 disposed on the lower side of the front side members 3 for suspending a front wheel 5, and three or more supports 7 to 9 in the longitudinal direction with respective side parts of the suspension member 6 supported by the front side members 3 corresponding thereto. Also, the automobile 1 is provided with a deformation promoting means 25 for promoting deformation so that an intermediate part 24 in the longitudinal direction of the front side member 3 in the vicinity of the intermediate support 8, out of the respective supports 7 to 9, gets away from the suspension member 6 by the impact force A applied to the body 2 at the time of the front collision of the automobile 1.
