Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display device which is capable of reducing an alignment drift and a residual stress and which does not need a long-time heating for junction, and the concerning display device. SOLUTION: This is the display device in which a first panel and a second panel are opposed via a frame body and in which a peripheral part of the panels is joined, (A) a rod shaped member 128 in which a sealing material layer 127A is formed on a side face is prepared, (B) the frame body 126 is arranged along the respective sides of these panels between the peripheral part of the first panel and the peripheral part of the second panel, (C) the rod shaped member 128 is arranged between the first panel and the second panel so that the sealing material layer 127A of the rod shaped member 128 and the frame body 126 are opposed, and (D) the sealing material layer 127A is heated and made into a state capable of flowing, and by moving the rod shaped member 128 toward the frame body 126, and by filling a region surrounded by the first panel, the second panel, the frame body 126, and the rod shaped member 128 with the sealing material, and subsequently by cooling the sealing material, the panels are joined.
