Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition having antioxidant effect able to be used for wide range of foods and drinks and pharmaceuticals, as antioxidant materials are effectively ingested for scavenging active oxygen and SOD (Super Oxide Dismutase) can be supplied in case of SOD insufficiency in the body, but it is difficult to quickly absorb SOD even through orally ingested and SOD can be deactivated through decomposition caused by gastric acid, so it is an effective means to ingest an antioxidant material expressing the same activity as that of SOD. SOLUTION: The antioxidant composition comprises fruits or seeds of Xanthium strumarium or an extract of the same. The extract of fruits or seeds of Xanthium strumarium is prepared by using at least one species of a group consisting of water, bases, acids, hydrophilic solvents and acetone.
