Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining electrode enabling a user to highly accurately acquire a reference position of a machining electrode without damaging the machining electrode, and an engraving electric discharge machining device. SOLUTION: A convex part (not shown), which has a plane part with assured height accuracy from each tip of partial electrodes 12a-12f, is formed to the lower face of the machining electrode 5. A Z-coordinate of the plane part is calculated as a positioning reference point by bringing a probe 6 into contact with the plane part of the convex part in order to acquire a vertical reference position in the machining electrode 5.
