OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable in which an optical fiber ribbon can be more easily taken out under various temperature environments. SOLUTION: A four-fiber optical fiber ribbon 32 is constituted by arranging four optical fibers 31 and coating them altogether with a ultraviolet ray setting resin. Then, by stacking two layers of this four-fiber optical fiber ribbon 32, an optical fiber unit 33 is constituted. Also, a tension member 3 is arranged on both sides on the extension of the center axis 7 in the major-side direction of the optical fiber unit 33. On the major-side end of a sheath 5, two notches 21 are formed in the longitudinal direction. In the optical fiber cable of the present embodiment, the notch 21 is positioned in the manner forming an angle ≤80° at the intersection of the center axis 7 and the line connecting the bottom of the notch 21 and a point closest thereto on the minor side of the optical fiber ribbon 2.
