IMAGE READING UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a height dimension of an image reading unit and an image forming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: A bottom plate 3a of a scanner housing constituting a scanner device of a copy machine comprises a projection 50 for enabling a lower end side of an SBU (sensor board unit) 12 to be housed therein by making a low end corresponding portion of the SBU 12 project toward lower direction than the bottom plate 3a. A CCD 11 etc. of a photoelectric conversion member can be prevented from being limited in its mounting by effectively utilizing the space of the lower side portion of the scanner housing or the cabinet of the scanner device outside from a paper ejection stacker unit 25, and through which a paper runs, and by disposing lower end of the SUB 12 therein. Consequently, height of the image forming device as a whole can be reduced when the image forming device is thus constituted by combining these scanner device with the other devices.
