Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric converter which can be reduced in mounting area by reducing external terminals without losing any one of the functions and hence can be made compact. SOLUTION: An infrared communication device which is supplied with power by applying voltage to Vcc power (LEDA) terminal 8a includes a light emitting element 2a whose anode is connected to the Vcc (LEDA) terminal 8a, IrDA driving circuit 2b and RC driving circuit 2c which are connected to the cathode of the light emitting element 2a to drive the light emitting element 2a by the power from the power supply, and a photo detector circuit 3 for controlling the signals from a photo detector 3a. The IrDA driving circuit 2b and the RC driving circuit 2c include transistors Tr1 and Tr2 for regulating the current in the light emitting element 2a and resistive elements R1 and R2, respectively. Between the Vcc (LEDA) terminal 8a and each of the IrDA driving circuit 2b, RC driving circuit 2c, and the photo detector circuit 3, a regulator is connected which serves for a low voltage source.
