Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for discriminating the variety of a rice of a Japonica relative by using a specific microsatelite marker having extremely high discrimination accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for discriminating the variety of the rice comprises amplifying one or more kinds of the microsatelite markers containing a repeating sequence of AT, TA, AG, GA, TC, CT, (TA+GA), ATT, AAT, TTA or ACAT present on a rice chromosome by using a DNA extracted from a rice seed as a template by a PCR, and detecting the amplification product by electrophoresis.
