IMAGING SERIAL INTERFACE ROM INTEGRATED CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for connecting a high speed image sensor with a digital logic circuit. SOLUTION: The imaging serial interface ROM (ISIROM) 100 is an integrated circuit which appears as a read only memory (ROM) with a serial interface 300 for an external circuit. The ISIROM 100 has an internal memory for storing image data from an imaging pixel array 400, and an image buffer in the internal memory is automatically filled with image data from the imaging pixel array during operation. The image data are accessed randomly by the external circuit. A control and state register is employed for starting and stopping an imaging process and for setting and inquiring an imaging parameter. The ISIROM may have an auxiliary processing circuit 500 performing such functions as the magnification, reduction, compression, edge/feature extraction of an image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
