Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an optimal constitution of hardware can be selected by separating an image processing CPU and a memory module. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a means 16 for communicating with an external unit through a high speed serial bus, and a memory module 1 provided with storage devices (11-14) and a means 15 for controlling the storage devices wherein the memory module 1 is connected with each constitutional device (2-8) including a CPU 2 through a high speed serial bus.
