SOLUTION: The phenol resin composition is obtained by compounding (a) a novolak-type phenol resin with (b) a resol-type phenol resin. Preferably, the composition of each component of the novolak-type phenol resin (a) and the resol-type phenol resin (b) is regulated so that the amount of the resol-type phenol resin is 0.1-70 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the novolak-type phenol resin (a).
