Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal insertion device and method capable of confirming precisely insertion state of a terminal into a connector. SOLUTION: The terminal insertion device 10 comprises an AE (acoustic emission, ultrasonic wave) detection sensor 15 and a connector holding member 20. The connector holding member 20 is connected to the AE detection sensor capable of propagation of AE. The terminal insertion method is provided with a step of installing a connector to the connector holding member 20, a step of inserting the terminal into the connector 11C, and a step of detecting insertion of the terminal by the AE detection sensor 15 connected to the connector holding member 20 capable of propagation of AE.
