OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device in which heat from a light emitting element driving circuit part for driving a light emitting element is hardly transferred to a light emitting element for emitting light and radiation efficiency does not deteriorate even when a housing is made thin. SOLUTION: A heat radiation plate 21 is provided so as to cover a portion of the housing 6, processing for improving the radiation efficiency is applied to a side facing the housing 6 of the heat radiation plate 21 and the surface of the opposite side, and an LD driver 4 is provided while being pressed against the heat radiation plate 21 so as to make the heat of the LD driver 4 be conducted to the heat radiation plate 21 to thereby be able to enhance radiation efficiency as the optical pickup device and to reduce the heat value of the LD driver 4 which is conducted to a semiconductor laser 2 via the housing 6.
