IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-color image forming apparatus which is high in efficiency and quality, by shortening the time required for color shift correction control, image density adjustment control, etc. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer belt 10 which moves in contact with a photoreceptor 1 in a transfer position, a pattern-forming means for control which forms a pattern for control onto the intermediate transfer belt 10, a pattern detecting means for control which detects a mark for control, and a moving body deformation preventing means which is provided on the rear face side of the intermediate transfer belt 10 at a position substantially facing the pattern detecting means for control, wherein the moving body deformation preventing means 16 is close to a biasing means 21 for applying bias to the intermediate transfer belt 10, inside a member for stretching the intermediate transfer belt from the inner side, and the surface of the moving body deformation preventing means 16 is composed of an insulating member.
