Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger in which a pre-combustion propellant is used for cooling a structure heated by combustion. SOLUTION: A flying object 20 comprises a body and a propellant feed source. An engine 28 is supported by the body. The engine 28 generates a thrust by reacting the propellant. The engine 28 comprises the heat exchanger 70 transferring heat from a reaction to at least one component of the propellant to generate electricity electro-thermally. A flow passage 500 is mostly surrounded by the heat exchanger 70 transferring heat from air and combustion gas to a pre-combustion scram jet fuel. The heat exchanger 70 comprises an upstream liquid fuel inlet 72 and a downstream liquid fuel outlet 74. A fuel flow passage 510 for scram jet fuel extends from a storage tank 80 to a fuel pump 82 and further to an inlet 72. After leaving the outlet 74, the heated fuel is fed to a fuel distribution network 84 along a flow passage 510 and then to a combustor 38. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
