METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING ORGANIC SLUDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic sludge which reduces the amount of excess sludge generation by focusing attention on the problem of solubilization with conventional thermophilic bacteria to effectively promote the volume reduction of organic sludge and has high energy efficiency as the whole process. SOLUTION: The method for treating the organic sludge generated when organic waste water is purified comprises (A) a sludge solubilization process for solubilizing a part of the sludge generated in a biological treatment tank by the thermophilic bacteria, (B) a solubilized sludge recirculation process for recirculating the solubilized sludge into the biological treatment tank, (C) a highly concentrated sludge concentration process for concentrating a part of the sludge generated in the biological treatment tank and initial sludge into a high concentration, (D) a sludge heat treatment process for thermally treating the concentrated sludge at a temperature higher than that of the solubilization process and (E) a sludge digestion process for aerobically digesting the thermally treated sludge.
