Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a packet loss caused by a packet delay or a packet overflow and to prevent deterioration in throughput in a radio communication method corresponding to power saving in a radio LAN system. SOLUTION: When a timer times out, a terminal 200 working in a power saving mode (PS) shifts to an active mode, and notifies a base apparatus 100 that it has shifted to the active mode by null frames NF 10, NF 20 and so on. Upon receiving the notification, the base apparatus 100 transmits a packet buffered in a queue for data transmission to the terminal 200. When the queue for data transmission becomes empty, the base apparatus 100 notifies the terminal 200 about that by control frames P11, P21 and so on. Upon receiving the notification, the terminal 200 notifies the base apparatus 100 that the terminal 200 shifts to the power saving mode by the null frames NF11, NF21 and so on, and after that, it shifts to the power saving mode.
