Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser oscillating element which can suffciently reduce the required amount of excitation energies for laser oscillation. SOLUTION: The laser oscillating element 1 is equipped with a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 2, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 3 opposed to the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 2, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 4 which is prepared between the cholesteric liquid crystal layers 2, 3 and contains cholesteric liquid crystal and fluorescence cololant. The cholesteric liquid crystals in the cholesteric liquid crystal 2, 3 are the same in spiral chirality and pitch. The emission band of the fluorescence emitted from the colorant and a part of the selective reflection wave band of the cholesteric liquid crystal in the cholesteric liquid crystal layers 2, 3 mutually overlap.
