MULTIFIBER OPTICAL CONNECTOR AND ITS ASSEMBLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifiber optical connector which makes automatic assembly possible with high certainty and safety for an optical connector, particularly, for a wide multifiber optical connector, which minimizes connection loss of the assembled optical connector, and which materializes high quality free from disconnection of optical fibers inside the optical connector, and to provide its assembling method. SOLUTION: A tapered section 3 with a narrowed width is provided to the insertion hole 2 of a multiple coated optical fiber ribbon, and the inserting position of the coated optical fiber ribbon 31 is decided in the middle part of the tapered section 3. Also, a plurality of optical fibers are guided to a conical entrance 6 leading to the tapered section 3 and to the fine insertion hole 7 of the optical fibers, and are thereby collectively inserted safely and surely.
