Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing the cellulose ester films, especially of a cellulose ester film useful as a protective film for polarizing plates, which generates virtually no transverse step. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing process of the cellulose ester film by solution casting film forming method, the invention is characterized in that a wind is applied from upstream side and/or downstream side to a cast film which is obtained by casting a dope, from a die onto an infinitely transferring endless metal support; wherein the wind is applied so that the horizontal component of the maximum wind velocity thereof will be 4 m/s or less and the deviation of the velocity of the wind applied to the cast film in the whole width direction thereof will be within ±20%.
