Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved imaging system incorporating an X-ray source which is compact and/or more lightweight, reduces a rotary or translational load, and eliminates the necessity of rotation or translation in system configuration elements at once, and to provide a topology, and a method. SOLUTION: An X-ray imaging system (10) is provided, including the distributed X-ray source (48); and a detector (20). The distributed X-ray source (48) discharges X-rays (56) from a plurality of discharge points (74) which are constituted as a substantially linear segment (72), a substantially circular arcuate segment (78), a curved segment (80), or a substantially non-planar surface (86).
