PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera removing dust by operating a dust-proof filter only when the dust is stuck on the dust-proof filter, even without causing a photographer to especially care about dust. SOLUTION: An image acquired by an imaging element 61 for display is resized so as to match an image acquired by an imaging element 68 for recording and in the state of normalizing white balances of both the images, an image for finder acquired by the imaging element 61 for display is compared with an image for recording acquired by the imaging element 68 for recording. As a result of the comparison, if it is detected that dust is stuck on a dust-proof filter 67, the dust-proof filter 67 is vibrated to remove dust. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
