ILLUMINANCE AMPLIFICATION METHOD AND PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminance amplification method for amplifying illuminance in an achromatic region while suppressing the deterioration of the brilliance of a coloring region included in an image and a projector. SOLUTION: An image constituted of a coloring region and an achromatic region is projected by a projector, and when the illuminance of the achromatic region is amplified, the achromatic region is divided into a plurality of parts such as a first part, a second part and a third part according to a relative distance from the coloring region, and the illuminance of each part is amplified so that according as the relative distance from the coloring region is made smaller, the amplification amounts of illuminance can be made smaller. Thus, it is possible to relax such a status that it is visually sensed that the coloring region seems darker than the surrounding, and to suppress the deterioration of brightness since the coloring region becomes dull.
