Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering a 1,3-dialkyl-2-imidazolidinone from a solution containing the 1,3-dialkyl-2-imidazolidinone and water in high recovery. SOLUTION: This method for recovering the 1,3-dialkyl-2-imidazolidinone represented by general formula (1) (R is a 1 to 4C alkyl) from a solution containing the compound represented by general formula (1) and water is characterized by dissolving an easily water-soluble inorganic compound in the solution, separating and recovering the organic phase from the water phase, removing the water together with a solvent forming an azeotropic composition with the water in the organic phase, and then distilling and recovering the compound represented by general formula (1).
