PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) regulator which is safe and effective, even when continuously used, and can regulate the production amount of BNP to enhance a vascular function-improving action, and to provide a food, a drink, a food additive, a medicine and a cosmetic each containing the same. SOLUTION: (1) This BNP regulator contains an apple extract as an active ingredient. (2) The BNP regulator (1), wherein the apple extract comprises polyphenols originated from apple. (3) The BNP regulator (2), wherein the polyphenols originated from the apple is one in which the procyanidin compound content in whole polyphenols is 20 to 100 wt.%. (4) The food or drink contains one of the BNP regulators (1) to (3). (5) The food additive contains one of the BNP regulators (1) to (3).
