CUTTING TOOL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool, hardly changing in its width of blade even if the cutting edge part wears away, easily adjusting the width of blade, and preventing cracks of a thin film due to film stress. SOLUTION: This cutting tip 2 is formed of a base board 6 fitted to a shank and a laminated thin film 7 provided on the base board 6. The laminated thin film 7 is formed of a plurality of hard thin films having a width T of blade corresponding to the film thickness and laminated in the direction of the width T of blade, and an intermediate layer 10 formed between the hard thin films 9 to keep the space between the hard thin films 9. One end corner part 7a serving as the cutting edge part of the laminated thin film 7 is projected outward from one end corner part 6a of the base board 6, and the intermediate layer 10 is removed from between the hard thin films 9, thereby forming a comb-tooth shape having a space 12 between the hard thin films 9.
