Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source and a projection display capable of optimally setting a voltage to be applied to an LED drive circuit, according to variation in characteristics of an LED, for each color and unit. SOLUTION: The drive current or light quantity of an LED is observed as voltage value is increased from a low gradually. The voltage value when a predetermined illumination quantity is detected to have started to be emitted is acquired and is taken as a set voltage value. The set voltage value is applied to the LED as an output voltage of a constant voltage circuit to drive the LED. So a voltage that is applied to an LED drive circuit can be optimally set according to variation in characteristics of the LED for each color and unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
