Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chitosan sponge being useable for applications such as cosmetics, medical materials, and industrial materials, excellent in water-absorbing characteristics, especially water-absorbing rate, water-absorbing magnification and having high flexibility. SOLUTION: The method for producing the chitosan sponge comprises adding polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol having 1,500-8,000 molecular weight when producing the porous chitosan sponge from a chitosan solution. Thereby, water absorbing characteristics are remarkably improved. The chitosan sponge is used for application such as cosmetics, e.g. pack materials for the faces and the skins and medical materials, e.g. wound-covering materials. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
