SURFACE ACOUSTIC WAVE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device in which occurrence of a ripple caused by a standing wave of a surface acoustic wave is enhanced. SOLUTION: An input side IDT electrode 5a and an output side IDT electrode 5b are disposed on a piezoelectric substrate 1, electrode fingers 4a and dummy electrode fingers 4b are adjacently disposed in a comb shape in each of 1st bus bars 2a and 2b connected to input/output terminals of IDTs and 2nd bus bars 3a and 3b connected to a ground, and are formed at a predetermined intervals so that the electrode fingers on one side and the dummy electrode fingers on the other side face each other. In such a case, a borderline portion 9 between each of the electrode fingers 4a or the dummy electrode fingers 4b and the 1st bus bars 2a and 3b and the 2nd bus bars 3a and 3b becomes non-parallel with the direction of propagating surface acoustic waves excited from said IDT electrodes.
