Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of powder compact the orientation of which is furthermore enhanced. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a step (a) of preparing magnetic powder 6, a step (b) of filling the magnetic powder 6 into a cavity, a step (c) of forming the compact by uniaxially pressing the magnetic powder 6 in the cavity between a pair of pressurizing faces 7a, 8a opposite to each other in a direction of the z axis, and a step (d) of applying demagnetizing processing to the compact. A metal mold includes a first metal mold member composed of a ferromagnetic body and a second metal mold composed of a nonmagnetic body. The step (c) includes a step (c1) of applying an orientation magnetic field 9 to the compact in a first direction orthogonal to the direction of the z axis. The orientation magnetic field 9 is applied to the magnetic powder 6 at least when the relative density of the magnetic powder 6 reaches about 0.4 or over, and faces in crossing with the magnetic field 9 applied to the cavity are faces 11, 12 of the first metal mold member.
