Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor device capable of obtaining stable emission efficiency while improving light emission efficiency by preventing a change in portion of full reflection and its ratio due to contact between a sealing member and a case or peeling of the contacting objects, because the small size of an optical semiconductor device itself makes microfabrication difficult and the sealing member may contact the case due to vibration or distortion or the contacting objects may be peeled off. SOLUTION: In the optical semiconductor device, a substrate which has an opening around an optical semiconductor element gradually expanding from the substrate and is made of a translucent material is arranged on the substrate, a sealing section having a refractive index larger than that of the case is formed on the opening, and the case is closely bonded on the sealing section.
