Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polyelectrolyte membrane having a low humidity dependency of proton conductivity which is made by an addition and copolymerization of an unsaturated bond containing organic silicon compound and a phosphoric acid group containing unsaturated monomer, and provide its use. SOLUTION: This is the solid polyelectrolyte membrane obtained by the addition copolymerization of (a) an unsaturated bond containing organic silicon compound containing at least one ethylenic unsaturated bond in a molecule, and (b) phosphoric acid group containing unsaturated monomer containing at least one or more phosphoric acid group and ethylenic unsaturated bond respectively in a molecule, and in which substantially there is no siloxane crosslinkage.
