Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate a wound healing reaction occurring in an animal individual, to provide a new wound treating agent and/or a new wound healing promoter and to further provide a method for screening wound treating agents and/or wound healing promoters effective for an aged individual. SOLUTION: The agent for treating wounds and/or promoting the wound healing comprises the full length or a partial peptide of at least one kind of FGF (fibroblast growth factor) selected from the group consisting of FGFs 9, 11, 16, 18 and 23 as an active ingredient. The method for screening substances having effects on treatment of wounds and/or promotion of the wound healing of the aged individual comprises monitoring the expressions of genes in a process of wound healing of living bodies different in aged states, comparing the expression levels of the genes between a young individual and the aged individual and judging that products of the genes with a lower expression level in the aged individual than that in the young individual have the effects on the treatment of the wounds and/or the promotion of the wound healing of the aged individual.
