Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printing plate material, in which favorable print durability is obtained without lowering sensitivity and on press developabilities in perfecting using blocking powder and under printing conditions of high printing pressure, and, at the same time, is excellent in resistance to fogging under pressure of a non-image part before development and provide the printing plate material excellent in the on press developabilities, print durability and scratch resistance, and to provide a printing method using the printing plate material. SOLUTION: In the on press developing type lithographic printing plate material formed by laminating a hydrophilic layer and a thermosensitive image forming layer on a support, a mat material, which projects by 0.5-10 μm beyond the coating film surface after the lamination of the thermosensitive image forming layer into the hydrophilic layer, is included under the condition that the contents of the mat material are 1,600-4,800 pieces/mm2and the standard deviation of the center distances between the mat materials is set to be not more than 20 μm.
