Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for performing an inspection in a simple method if a microscopic grade of foreign materials are present inside a roll bearing. SOLUTION: A foreign material presence or absence inspection method inside the roll bearing is characterized in that the roll bearing for a target inspection comprises a pair of raceway rings 2, 4 counter arranged relatively rotatably and a plurality of rolling elements 6 which are freely rotatably built-in between raceway surfaces 8, 10 formed respectively in the counter surfaces 2a, 4a of each raceway ring. Clearance of the roll bearing is set as a minus and after each raceway ring is relatively rotated for a predetermined time, adding a prescribed load, the inspection if foreign materials are present or not is performed in accordance with variations of the surface configurations of the rolling element.
