ROCKING CHAIR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair allowing a user in a sitting state to lightly adjust the degree of resistance to the backward tilting of a backrest. SOLUTION: This chair is provided with a resilient support device 12 supporting the load of the backrest. When the user leans against the backrest, a first operation member 15 retreats, then a second operation member 16 is moved rightward or leftward by the guide operation of a relay member 35 inclined in the planar view and the advance movement of the second operation member 16 is supported by a spring 17. The attitude of the relay member 35 is changed by a cam 41 turnably operated by a lever 19, so that a force applied to the first operation member 15 is changed to change the resistance to the backward tilting of the backrest. The attitude of the relay member 35 is changed by revolving around the axis of a roller 26 so as to change the attitude of the relay member 35 with a light force in a free state where the user does not lean against the backrest.
