MAGNETIC DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk drive capable of surely restricting the turning of an actuator and preventing rebounding even in an emergency actuator retraction. SOLUTION: When the actuator 10 is turned as a retraction operation in the direction of an arrow F, a shock absorbing member 32 provided in a turning restricting part 20 comes into contact with a contact surface 28 of a latch mechanism 18 to relieve a shock by a collision of the actuator 10 and the latch mechanism 18. When the turning of the actuator 10 further continues in the direction of the arrow F after the shock absorbing member 32 comes into contact with the contact surface 28, a sensor member 30 is brought into contact with a latch turning surface 34 to turn the latch mechanism 18, and a hook 24 and the turning restricting part 20 cooperate to restrict the turning of the actuator 10.
