PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device capable of accelerating an initializing operation. SOLUTION: The storage device 12 to be used by being mounted on a host unit 11 comprises: a nonvolatile memory 16 including a plurality of blocks, where each of the blocks is a data erasing unit and includes a plurality of pages and each of the pages includes a data part for storing first data input from the host unit 11 and a redundant part for storing second data for managing at least the first data; a detection circuit 18 for generating a first code for detecting the first error of the second data and detecting the first error on the basis of the first code; and a correction circuit 17 for generating a second code for detecting and correcting the second errors of the first and second data and detecting and correcting the second errors on the basis of the second code.
