Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimerization catalyst of an α-olefin improved in its life. SOLUTION: In the dimerization catalyst of the α-olefin constituted by supporting an alkali metal (A) on a carrier (B) based on an anhydrous potassium compound, (i) the alkali metal (A) comprises ≥80 gram atomic% of metal sodium (d) and (ii) the carrier (B) is a compression-molded granular carrier constituted of graphite (c) and the anhydrous potassium compound (d) and characterized in that the content of the graphite (c) is 0.1-3 wt.% of the anhydrous potassium compound (d) and the specific surface area of the graphite (c) measured by a BET method is 20 m2/g or above.
