Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the consistent chip retaining posture by preventing an elastic body for retaining a chip from being turned over. SOLUTION: A through hole formed in a component retainer having an elastic body having a through hole is expanded by applying the force to the elastic body. After a chip-shaped electronic component element is inserted in the expanded through hole, the force applied to the elastic body is released, the chip-shaped electronic component element is retained by the elastic body, the component retainer retaining the chip-shaped electronic component element is conveyed to the through hole of the elastic body, and a conductive paste for an external electrode is coated on a predetermined part of the chip-shaped electronic component element. The chip-shaped electronic component element is not forcibly pressed into the hole of the elastic body like in a conventional technology, but inserted after the through hole is expanded. Thus, any turn-over is hardly formed. Further, since the force applied to the elastic body is released after inserting the chip-shaped electronic component element, the component can be retained in the consistent posture.
